Getting Started, 12 Languages & Themes

Dosezy is designed to be friendly, high-contrast, and easy to read. It operates completely offline without requiring any user registration or internet connection.

Supported Languages:

English, Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Italian, and Bengali.

How to Change Language or Theme:

  1. Tap the Menu tab at the bottom right.
  2. Tap Preferences.
  3. Choose your preferred Language under General, customize Light/Dark mode and visual styles under Appearance, or switch to 24-Hour time format.

Home Screen, Time Headers & Dose Badges

Your Home screen lists your daily doses grouped by chronological time, with an optional vertical Timeline Mode available via the top bar icon. Helpful real-time indicators and colored badges show your compliance status at a glance:

Green (Taken)Logged with exact completion timestamp

Dose Undo, Notes & Time Zones:

  • Configurable Dose Undo: Turn on Dose Undo in Preferences to revert accidental taps with a confirmation dialog, safely returning deducted tablets to inventory.
  • Per-Dose Notes & Symptoms: Prompt for meal conditions ("With food", "Empty stomach") or side effects when logging a dose, with quick-tap suggestions and easy editing from your dose cards or schedule calendar.
  • Manually Record Dose Time: If you took a medication earlier, select the exact past time you consumed it rather than the current moment, ensuring adherence logs remain strictly accurate.
  • Crossing Time Zones: When traveling across time zones, dose reminders shift seamlessly with your local daily routine without manual recalibration.
  • Celebratory Completion Banner: When all doses for today are completed, a cheerful banner appears at the top while keeping today's full schedule visible underneath for continuous review.

Adding, Searching & Archiving Medicines

  1. Tap Medicines in the bottom bar, then tap "+ Add Medicine" (or "Add Your First Medication" on empty lists).
  2. Enter the medicine name and dose unit (tablet, capsule, mg, mL, drops, puffs, units). Helpful validation toasts guide you if required fields are missing.
  3. (Optional) Tap the camera icon to take or crop a pill box photo.
  4. Select meal instructions (🍽️ Before Food, 🍲 With Food, 🥗 After Food, or ⏱️ No Instructions).
  5. Choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or As Needed (PRN) frequency.
  6. Tap 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x Daily chips to schedule standard multi-dose times instantly.
  7. Adjust individual times using the intuitive 12-First Grid Time Picker (12 is at the top).

Live Search & Filter: Use the top search bar on the Medicines screen to instantly filter pills by name or instructions in real time.

Discontinue & Archive Accordion: When a course finishes, tap Edit > Discontinue. The medicine moves to a collapsible accordion at the bottom of your Medicines screen, keeping your active list clutter-free while preserving all past logs and reports.

Flexible Add Button: When the bottom navigation '+' button is hidden in Preferences, an "Add Medicine" button appears conveniently below your active medications roster.

Critical Alarms, Volume Silence & Custom Sounds

When taking multiple tablets at the same minute, Dosezy rings with a single high-priority full-screen alarm. You can check off items individually or tap the large green "TAKE ALL" button in 1 tap to record all doses and decrement inventory simultaneously.

Slide to Take & Snooze Gestures:Alarms feature separate sliding tracks: slide the green track left to record intake (or Take All), and slide the orange track right to snooze, avoiding accidental dismissals while half-asleep (can be toggled in Preferences).
Hardware Volume Rocker Silence:Press Volume Up or Down while an alarm rings to immediately silence ringtone and vibration without unlocking your device.
Back-Gesture Snooze:Pressing the device Back button automatically snoozes the alarm safely, preventing accidental dismissals into a missed state.
Custom Sounds, Volumes & Durations:

Under Menu > Preferences > Notifications & Alarms:

  • Custom Tones: Choose built-in alert chimes, system alarms, or your own device ringtones with in-app audio preview playback.
  • Alarm Duration: Choose ring length: 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or continuous loop.
  • Dynamic Snooze: Choose 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minute snooze intervals.

Pill Inventory & Pharmacy Refill Orders

Keep track of your medicine stock so you never run out of critical prescriptions, and generate formatted refill orders for your pharmacist:

  1. When adding or editing a medicine, enter your Current Stock (e.g. 60 pills) and Refill Threshold (e.g. 10 pills).
  2. Dosezy automatically subtracts pills whenever you mark a dose as Taken.
  3. An orange ⚠️ Refill Warning badge appears on your Home screen and Medicines list when stock drops low.
Pharmacy Refill Order Generator:

Under Menu > Data Management > Pharmacy Refill Order, compile clean prescription refill orders:

  • Multi-Profile Consolidation: Combine prescription refills for multiple family members into a single unified order, or generate an order for an individual profile.
  • Filter Modes: Select Low Stock Only (items needing replenishment) or All Active medications.
  • Supply Durations & Smart Bottles: Choose 15, 30, 60, or 90 days. For liquid medicines and eye drops, Dosezy automatically calculates whole bottles needed rather than raw drops or milliliters.
  • Share via Chat & Copy: Preview the formatted WhatsApp markdown text, then tap Share via Chat or copy to clipboard in 1 tap.

Interactive Schedule Calendar

Tap the Schedule tab in the bottom bar to view your full medication calendar. Tap any date to inspect past adherence or upcoming doses. Colored dot markers on calendar days show at a glance whether medicines were taken on time, late, or missed.

Adherence Analytics & Compliance Scores

Open Menu > Analytics to view your compliance score ring across WEEK, MONTH, YEAR, and ALL TIME. Review counts of on-time vs late vs missed doses and see compliance rates for each specific medicine.

Structured Preferences & Clinical Dose Skipping

Preferences are organized into clean, focused sections in Menu > Preferences:

  • General: App language (12 languages) and 12h/24h time format.
  • Appearance: Light/Dark theme, Home vertical Timeline Mode, Thicker Calendar Day Highlights, and Hide Navigation Add Button (hides the center '+' button for a symmetrical 4-tab bar and places an "Add Medicine" button on the Medicines screen).
  • Notifications & Alarms: Slide to Take & Snooze gestures, default snooze interval (5–30 min), custom ringtone selection, volume slider, and alarm sound duration (30s–5m/loop).
  • Dose Tracking:
    • Allow Dose Undo: Toggle whether doses can be undone from cards or snackbars, with a safety confirmation dialog before restoring stock counts (default off).
    • Dose Notes: Master toggle to allow attaching meal context and symptom notes to doses, with optional Prompt on Dose Taken automation (default off; hides "+ Add Note" when disabled).
    • Allow Dose Skipping: Opt-in secondary "Skip" button with mandatory clinical reasons that protect your compliance streak.
    • Late & Missed Windows: Adjust Consider Late After (1h–3h) and Consider Missed After (3h–9h).

International Emergency & Profile Contacts

Go to Menu > Emergency Contacts:

  • Official Emergency Services: Dosezy automatically detects your country (India, US/Canada, UK, EU, China, Japan, Russia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Australia) to dial police, fire, or ambulance in 1 tap.
  • Profile-Isolated Contacts: Tap "+ Add Emergency Contact" to save numbers for your doctor or caregiver. Personal contacts are isolated per profile and included in encrypted backups.

Managing Multiple Family Profiles

Tap Menu > Switch Profile to create independent profiles for family members. Each profile keeps its own schedule, medicine list, stock counts, and compliance logs completely separate.

Deletion Safeguards: Single-profile accounts cannot delete their only profile. Removing secondary profiles requires a deliberate 5-second safety countdown before the confirmation button activates, preventing accidental loss of medical records.

Doctor PDF Reports & Selective Backups

Go to Menu > Export Data and select PDF Report to generate a clean, printable clinical summary complete with current prescriptions, dosages, food instructions, skipped dose reasons, and compliance rates. You can also export raw CSV or JSON data files.

Full ZIP Backup & Selective Profile Restore:

Under Menu > Backup & Restore, switch between the Automatic tab (cloud and self-hosted server options) and the Manual tab to export an encrypted ZIP archive. When restoring on any phone, Dosezy inspects the archive with an in-front loader and lets you choose a conflict resolution strategy per profile: Create New Profile, Merge Records, or Replace Profile.

Checking for App Updates

Tap Menu > More > Check for Updates. Dosezy automatically detects where you downloaded the app from (Google Play, F-Droid, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps, Amazon Appstore, or GitHub) and opens your store client or browser safely.

Notification Reliability Shield & Battery

Troubleshooting1 min read

A persistent Reliability Shield button is accessible in the TopBar across all main screens and subpages. Tapping it opens a live system diagnostic checklist:

  1. Exact Alarms: Verifies precision alarm dispatch permission.
  2. Notifications: Checks that alert channels are enabled.
  3. Battery Optimization: Direct manufacturer links (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc.) to prevent battery savers from killing alarms when the phone is locked.
